As a busy mom to three kids ages 1, 3 and 4, I am always looking for ways to save time in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking and baking but I do not enjoy the cleanup process. While I would love to have all the time in the world to cook and clean, the truth of the matter is that I have three little kids who are in constant need of mom’s attention so I am often scrambling to get dinner on the table. My Maytag kitchen appliances make it easier for a busy mom like me to quickly and easily get dinner on the table and clean up afterwards, leaving me with time for my family.
Our Maytag Over-The-Range Microwave gets a lot of use around here. Whether I am heating up water to make my favorite cappuccino mix or making popcorn, which I do almost every night, or reheating food for the kids, it’s always in use for one thing or another. I love the features that my Maytag microwave offers that no other microwave I’ve ever owned has offered me. This stainless steel beauty is so sparkling clean that it was impossible not to get a reflection in my picture! I love how easy the stainless steel is to clean. Everything wipes off of it easily and it doesn’t seem to get as stuck on as other microwaves I’ve had that were not stainless steel.
This 1,000 Watt Microwave boasts a huge interior, big enough to easily fit this 9 X 13 casserole pan. It makes reheating leftovers a breeze. No need to remove them and heat them one plate at a time. I can reheat a casserole or dessert for my whole family, right in the pan.
The rack system allows you to cook two 10″ x 15″ pans at once. I have to admit that I’ve never owned a microwave with a rack in it before. The interior of this microwave is HUGE! I love it! The rack is removable too so when you have taller items to heat, the rack easily pulls out. Another feature that sets this microwave apart is the WideGlide tray that moves back and forth inside the microwave rather than in a circle. It provides even heating and the sensor reheat feature allows you to warm your meals without worrying about cooking times or power levels. I have to admit that the first time I stuck a whole pan of lasagna in the microwave and trusted it to sensor cook it, I was a little worried. Luckily it came out just perfect. We have since used the sensor reheat option for all of our leftovers. It’s great to not have to figure out how much time to cook something for. This feature is especially handy for my husband who tends to ask me how long to cook EVERYTHING he sticks in the microwave!
There are a lot of very helpful features and buttons on the Maytag microwave. I love the popcorn button and use it at least 5 times a week with my slight popcorn addiction! There are also kids menu and snack menu buttons which will be perfect when my kids are a little older and able to use the microwave on their own. Just select what you are eating, chicken nuggets, pizza, etc and the microwave does the rest! It couldn’t get much easier.
After we are done eating dinner the last thing I look forward to doing is washing dishes. I’ve just prepared the meal and served it, I don’t want to clean up too. Most of the time the kids need to go right in the tub and there isn’t a lot of time for dishes. Thanks to the awesome Maytag JetClean Plus Dishwasher I don’t have to scrub my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher, it does all the work for me. The Jetclean Plus Steam cycle utilizes high-pressure spray jets and increased temperatures to power through stuck-on food while reducing spots on glassware.
I LOVE the sleek design of this dishwasher too. All of the controls are hidden which is a good thing because my little ones would be all over that if they weren’t!
The controls are tucked away under the counter when the dishwasher is closed. When you open it you can easily press the buttons to select the wash cycle you desire.
I love all of the different options the Maytag dishwasher rack offers for placement of your dishes. The premium adjustable upper rack adds additional convenience with added cup clips and a utensil rack. It’s adjustable so if I have taller glasses I can lower it and if I have taller pots on the bottom I can raise the upper rack to make more room. It is very versatile and makes the loading process quick and easy. The silverware baskets on the bottom are split so that you can place them in the best spot for each load, allowing for a lot of flexibility.
After we eat dinner I always ask my husband if he would rather give the kids a bath or clean up. He almost always says he would rather clean up. The majority of the time he loses interest and doesn’t finish cleaning up but I have to give him credit for starting the job. I love that I don’t have to worry that he didn’t rinse the dishes because the JetClean cycle will get them clean even without pre-rinsing. It saves me a ton of time later when I don’t have to re-wash the whole load!
Growing up I can remember having to perfectly rinse every dish and stack them just right in the dishwasher so that they would get clean. I don’t know what brand of appliances we had growing up. I wasn’t interested in what they were, I was more annoyed that I had to use them! Now that I’m a Mom I am so thankful for all of the new innovations that Maytag delivers. As a kid doing my chores, I always dreamed of a dishwasher that didn’t require me to wash the dishes before I put them in! One of the things I hated most was emptying the dishwasher because everything came out wet still so you had to dry them too. My Maytag puts out dry dishes with every load! We run our dishwasher twice a day usually. With my family of five we use a lot of dishes throughout the day. It’s always dependable to deliver, clean and dry dishes at the end of each cycle.
I have to admit (sorry Mom) that as a child we grew up eating a lot of frozen food that we heated up in the microwave. We often had to fend for ourselves for dinner as my Mom was a busy, working Mom. Boy what I would’ve given for the sensor cook and kids menu options on my microwave! I used that microwave ALL the time!
My kids are now totally spoiled in that when they are old enough to be expected to do the dishes, most of the work is already done for them courtesy of Maytag!
